Situation: You are already speaking with someone and more visitors arrive.
What to do:
- Make eye contact.
- Acknowledge them.
- Give a short signal that you will help them soon.
- Ask a free colleague to step in if possible.
What to say:
“Hi, welcome. I’ll be with you in a moment.”
Remember
Nobody becomes invisible.
Lesson: You do not need to stop every conversation. You do need to make people feel seen.
If It Is Not Your Role, Still Act
Do not ignore a visitor because you are not the right person for the topic.
ENGAGE → DISCOVER → CHOOSE / ROUTE
Example:
“Hi. Let me understand what you need, then I’ll bring in the right colleague.”
You do not need to answer everything. You do need to keep the visitor connected.
